Our travel consultant – Ms Hoa is decorating our Office in holiday

In Vietnam,  we have some Public holidays which are days when workers get the day off work. Prior to 2007, Vietnamese workers observed 8 days of public holiday a year, among the lowest in the region. On March 28, 2007 the government added the traditional holiday commemorating the mythical Hùng Kings to its list of public holidays, increasing the number of days to 9.

Reunification Day (Ngày Thống nhất), or Liberation Day (Ngày Giải phóng) is a public holiday in Vietnam that marks the occasion Viet Cong and North Vietnamese troops captured Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City) on April 30, 1975. This signalled the end of theVietnam War, known in Vietnamese as Chiến tranh Việt Nam (Vietnam War). It was the start of the transition period toward reunification, which occurred July 2, 1976 when the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam merged to form the modern-day Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Nowadays, Vietnam is one of the most peaceful destination all around the world. Never happens revolting, terrorism, etc and Vietnamese people was appreciated as friendly and hospitality local people. Vietnam welcomes more and more tourists every year.

International Workers’ Day (also known as May Day) is a celebration of the international labour movement. May 1 is a national holiday in more than 80 countries and celebrated unofficially in many other countries. In Vietnam,  it is known as International Labor Day and is a public holiday.

So Vietnam Liberation day & International Labor day are two of public holiday. Normally,  Footprint Team will take 2 days off in this holiday. As in most other nations, if a holiday falls during the weekend, it is observed on the following Monday. So actually, we have totally 5 days off from April 27th(Sat) to May 1st(Wed) for a short relaxing.

Each member of Footprint Team has their own plan for this short vacation. Someone come back their hometown to visit relatives and some others spend their time for your children, go to the zoo, going out for dinner. But whenever we go or whatever we do, we make sure that everything in the office must be done before the holiday. We also continue tracing the following works during the holiday. Each of us will have our holiday checklist while we are away the office.
