Vietnam Tour company disgusted by animal abuse photos

(July 2012) – Footprint Vietnam Travel is a responsible tour operator that has been running trips throughout Vietnam of over 11 years now. Today, as we sat in the office and looked at the pictures (now posted everywhere on the internet) of the recent animal torture in Vietnam, we were disgusted! The office is currently solemn and quiet, however, we as a team have decided to say something.

This blog post is to show our support to those fighting back. Currently, on the internet people are shouting loudly. There is an online petition being circulated demanding justice. Here is a link to that petition. Please sign it.

As for what is being said, we at Footprint wholeheartedly agree that these shameful few must be brought to justice! We also believe that, even though this was only a few bad people, we can all do better.

As a tour operator we will also do more. We will begin to ensure that whenever possible we will bring our guests to, and support any animal rescue centres . Check out Cat Ba Langur Conservation Project and the Cuc Phuong Endangered Primate Rescue Centre. These are two spots we have supported on many occasions and are worth a visit next time you are in Vietnam.  We have also supported organizations, in the past, that help to protect endangered species and we will do that too! We are also going to reach out to our partners, and the Vietnam Responsible Travel Club (to which we are the founder) to table this at the next meeting.

As a final plea, to the authorities, please find and bring these criminals to justice!
